Herefordshire County Junior Championship Rules
CONDITIONS
1. The Championship will be an 18 hole individual medal competition for both scratch and handicap prizes..
2. Play shall be in accordance with the Rules of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St.Andrews, the club rules and the Competition rules.
3. Entrants must be members of one of the affiliated Herefordshire Golf Clubs and be under 18 years of age or under on January 1st of the appropriate year.
4. Entries shall be made on the entry form obtainable from each Club Secretary and fees must accompany the form. Entries will not be accepted other than via the official completed entry form. Entrance monies will not be refunded unless intimation of scratching is received before the closing date of entries.
5. Handicap Index must not exceed the limits of 28.4 for boys and 36.4 for girls at the time of entry and entrants must be of Amateur status as defined by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St.Andrews. Handicap Allowance will be 95% as per WHS recommendation.
6. The competition Committee may refuse any entry without assigning any reason to do so.
7. The Committee reserve the right to fix and/or alter starting times. In the event of play having to be abandoned/postponed the Committee reserve the right to amend the rules of the competition.
8. Competitors will be at the tee at least five minutes before their starting time. Any competitor who is absent when called upon to start will be disqualified.
9. In the event of a tie for the best gross there will be a play-off over 4 designated holes, these to be published before the start of play. In the event of a further tie then sudden death over the same holes shall determine the winner. The play-off will only be to determine the gross champion. The prize will be awarded on a countback over the last 9,6,3 holes etc.
10. The Championship will be a qualifying competition for handicap purposes.
11. Competitors are warned that they will be penalised for “undue delay” under rule 5.6B.
12. Any questions or disputes will be dealt with by the Administrator or the committee on the day whose decision will be final.
13. Measuring devices may be used for calculating distances only.
