CONDITIONS
1. The Championship will be an 18 hole individual medal competition for men aged 55 or over before the day of the event. Incorporated will be Scratch and Handicap prizes for age groups 55-64 and 65+.
2. The team Championship will be won by the club with the lowest aggregate gross score returned by 3 of their members. Each member will receive a voucher.
3. Play shall be in accordance with the Rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St.Andrews, the club rules and the Competition rules.
4. Entries shall be made online. Entrance monies will not be refunded unless intimation of scratching is received before the closing date of entries, or those who have been balloted out.
5. Handicap Index must not exceed 28.4 at the time of entry and entrants must be of amateur status as defined by The Royal and Ancient Golf club of St.Andrews.
6. Entrants must be members of one of the affiliated Herefordshire Golf Clubs, 5 day members of such clubs are permitted to enter.
7. Entrants must not have taken part in another county championship, or have represented another county union in the 12months preceding this championship.
8. The competition Committee may refuse any entry without assigning any reason to do so.
9. In the event of applications exceeding the available places, entries for the higher handicap competitors shall be decided by ballot which shall take place immediately after the closing date for entries. All unsuccessful entries will be given the opportunity to compete if scratching occurs.
10. The Committee reserve the right to fix and/or alter starting times. In the event of play having to be abandoned/postponed the Committee reserve the right to amend the rules of the competition.
11. Competitors will be at the tee at least five minutes before their starting time. Any competitor who is absent when called upon to start will be disqualified.
12. In the event of a tie there will be a play-off over 4 designated holes, these to be published before the start of play. In the event of a further tie then sudden death over the same holes shall determine the winner. The play-off will only be to determine the Senior champion. The prize will be awarded on a countback over the last 9,6,3 holes etc. No competitor will be allowed to receive more than one prize.
13. Competitors are warned that they will be penalised for “undue delay†under rule 5.6B
14. The Championship will be a qualifying competition for handicap purposes.
15. Any questions or disputes will be dealt with by the Administrator or the Committee on the day, whose decision will be final. If the championship committee is not satisfied with an explanation for a breach of discipline the competitor concerned will be debarred from entering or taking part in any H.C.G.C. event for such a period as the committee shall decide.
16. The committee approve the use of buggies in the Championship.
17. Measuring devices may be used for calculating distances only.
